Melanie and Nate know how to throw a party! Their wedding was at the Crystal Ballroom was so fun, filled with laughter, energy and dancing. We started at one of my absolute favorite hotels, The Hotel Deluxe, for getting ready and first look, and continued onto the ballroom. It was cool to photograph a wedding there, as I usually go there to see live music. The light that filed the space was stunning and so was the bride and groom. Melanie shared a special flamenco dance with the guests and they had a yummy vegetarian dinner. I love the pics we took on the balcony overlooking the classic "dance" sign over Burnside. People were shouting congrats up from their cars as the couple kissed. Congrats M&N and thanks for inviting me to document your magical day!

Hanging out on the streets of Mississippi Ave in N. Portland with a deep blue sky and vintage cruiser bikes is my idea of a good time! Erica and Cort and I, along with my awesome new intern Allison, took to the streets and found some great locations along the way. Erica's cute yellow shoes and old school red Schwinn made for tons of great colors in these pics. E&C are so fun and energetic, it's hard not to smile when you're around them! I'm so looking forward to their wedding at Skamania Lodge in September!

I had the pleasure of spending a dreamy day with Holly and Sam in N. Portland recently for their engagement session! We met up at my new studio on N. Mississippi Ave and went on a photo adventure around the area. I love the rustic charm of the field and tire swing and then the more grungy backdrops of the alley ways and street signs. I'm so very excited and honored to be working with them and An Affair to Remember this December! Hope you love the sneak peek H&S! xo

Wedding-Receptions-Portland-12.jpg Wedding-Receptions-Portland-9.jpg Wedding-Receptions-Portland-15.jpg Wedding-Receptions-Portland-17.jpg Melanie and Eric had an intimate wedding ceremony in Vegas in early 2011 and threw a big fun Hawaiian reception in Portland in early June. Both Melanie and Eric brought their great families together as one, and it was a perfect opportunity to get some beautiful family photos. Everyone joined the party at the Hawaiian Bamboo Grille in SW Portland for a wonderful luau. Hula and a ukulele player were the entertainment and it was fun for all ages! Great food, music and love made this relaxed wedding reception unforgettable!

My oh my what a wonderful day! Christine and John and I all met up in their hometown of our nation's capitol, Washington DC. I was greeted to the East Coast with 105* heat wave, but inspiring and monumental photo inspiration everywhere! Christine and John met and live in DC, but Christine is originally from Portland, where their Southern-inspired wedding will be held in September. Words can't describe how magic this couple is, their energy is uplifting and fun and we had a blast all over town, including some pics in their neighborhood and at the Jefferson memorial! From our cupcake break at the Love Cafe, to the urban alleys in their hood, to the stunning dusk light at the Washington Mall... What a dream! Thank you SO much to C&J for bringing me to DC for their inspiring engagement shoot. Seriously can't wait for their Sept. wedding at Waverley. oh. so. excited! thank you and hope you love the sneak peek! xo

Fabulous shots of a wonderful couple! You captured their relationship beautifully, in the location where it all happened. Love the shot of them in the sunset glow at the Lincoln Memorial. The large black and white shot of Christine holding her hair up is the quintessential Christine! Beautiful work.
